Chiropractic is a health care discipline that serves to improve and balance the body’s structure and function through spinal adjustments that affect the communication between the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves); which are regulated by both the somatic and autonomic nervous systems) and the rest of the body. Our spinal cord is our major life antenna.
As a Chiropractor, our philosophy emphasizes that the Universal or Innate intelligence of the body does the healing. Doctors or Practitioners do not heal, but assist in facilitating the healing process - as only the body itself has the ability to adapt and respond to its environment.
My approach to Chiropractic care is holistic in that I aim to assess and support your physical, chemical and emotional well-being.
During a consultation I will assess posture, movement patterns and areas of mechanical stress within the body. Where appropriate, chiropractic adjustments or other supportive techniques may be used to assist mobility, ease and function.
function.
The aim of care is to support healthy movement, improve physical balance and help the body adapt to everyday stresses.
Some people experience improvement quickly, while for others changes may occur more gradually. Responses to care vary between individuals.
TECHNIQUES USED IN PRACTICE
A range of assessment and chiropractic techniques may be used during consultations depending on the individual needs of each patient.
These may include:
Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC)
ABC is a structural assessment approach that evaluates posture and alignment throughout the body. It focuses on identifying areas where mechanical stress may affect movement or posture. Checking the body from head to toe allows the body to unwind from previous injury or mechanical stress that interferes with nervous system functions.
Total Body Modification (TBM)
TBM incorporates principles of kinesiology (muscle testing) as part of a broader assessment process. It may be used to explore how the body responds to different forms of physical and chemical stress.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
NET is an approach used to explore possible relationships between emotional stress and physical responses within the body.
Neurofunctional Approaches
Bronwyn also draws on neurofunctional concepts influenced by the work of researchers such as Dr Robert Melillo, Dr Kyle Daigle, Dr Petros Kattou and colleagues. These approaches explore how brain function and sensory processing may influence coordination, balance and movement. Bronwyn is currently enrolled in the fellowship program with SOZO Brain Center which entails ongoing study.
These techniques are used as part of a broader chiropractic assessment and are tailored to the individual.
Chiropractic does not claim, promise or guarantee to “cure” specific conditions. Although pain may resolve quickly, it can take time to restore proper function of the spine and nervous system. Many patients choose to maximise their spinal health and general well-being by having maintenance care on a regular basis.
