June 2023 Newsletter

Welcome to winter....brrrrr!!!

The News...

As a lover of warmth, I chase the sun especially on our cool days, but I do love getting comfy in front of the fireplace each evening. Any excuse to be around a fire is mesmerising, watching the dance of the elements, enjoying the warmth that is emitted!!

Last weekend I attended the IN8 Summit, which was a chiropractic seminar - connecting with like minded colleagues. It's always inspiring being surrounded by your tribe isn't it...?? There were maný inspiring speakers reiterating the principles of the philosophies we believe in as Chiropractors. We believe that we may 'deliver the impulse to remove interference from the nervous system'; each practitioner in their own way - and then we allow innate/God to do the healing... :)!

Often people will seek a chiropractor when they are in pain, but the pain is merely a lesson. You don't need to be in pain to benefit from care, as many of you already know. The blessing is learning to understand what the body is trying to tell us in order to love ourselves more. Having an adjustment, frees our nervous system from the stressors in life - whether it be physical, chemical, emotional or spiritual, so that our SOUL can FEEL what we truly need! This allows us to return to being in our heart to live and love life!!

The Views...

Many people these days are suffering from various conditions affecting organs of the abdomen – including digestive, reproductive, urinary and immune conditions. Not only does the abdomen house our “second brain” and our centre of creativity, but it is an area that we store or hold a lot of emotion too. Abdominal massage encourages flow and harmony to an area that is considered quite vulnerable by many.

The abdominal area is a sensitive area and for most people having their belly touched is very daunting; as generally its an area that we hide or hold in... so as not to reveal what our gut instincts may reveal... ;-).

Since I have the Belly Bliss Abdominal Massage workshops coming up, I thought I'd remind you that your gut and your emotions travel on a two way street. Our mood affects our gut and what we digest affects our brain and emotions. As has been expressed by others, our gut is considered our second brain, as it contains 90% of our serotonin (feel good) receptors, 50% of our dopamine (feel focused) receptors and 70-80% of our immune cells (feel well receptors). Abdominal breathing can support our digestion by activating our parasympathetic nervous system, which regulates our rest and digest aspects via our vagus nerve. Abdominal massage increases circulation, stimulates easier peristaltic action, as well as help us to connect to the emotions we may be storing in our gut.

Are you ready to find ways to start digesting more of life...??
